Great tractor. All the posts are right. Store it out of the rain. Keep the transmission oil clean. Keep the gearshift boots in good shape.

I hae figured out where to get manuals, spares and Lucas electrical parts if you need them. Elmer is a good starting point.

welllll, its more than i would want to pay, but about what they seem to bring. keep the fluid and filters changed on the hydraulics. don't over rev the engine. Get an owners manual from Elmer or Case, the hydrualics are a little more complicated than other tractors. One of the toughest, best tractors on fuel you'll ever have. just please keep the hydraulics clean.

Randy,

I'm here in Ireland and we have two 990's on our smallholding.
Personally I think they are brilliant.
Main thing is keep the back end oil filter replaced as necessary and the oil clean.
Excellent power to weight ratio
Great fuel economy
Great example of a classic tractor

Best of luck with her

I have an 885 DB, a nighbor has a 990 DB, we both love our tractors, just keep it sheltered from rain, I have trouble keeping water out of the trans when it sets out in the rain.

I do not believe it is a Case if it is a 1965. Is it White and Brown? Does it say 990 Diesel on the sheet metal? 1965 is when David Brown converted from red/yellow to white/brown. Yell for Elmer on the board, he is the David brown "Guru".
