Heck for 1150.00 you can buy whole tractor just sold a 400 gas for 1500 just look for a whole tractor and the parts will only get more valuable as time rolls on

Hey Dave: We're here in the Finger Lakes Region of N.Y. State. I would guess the bare blocks are the same. The question is whether Diesel sleeves will fit in this block. Maybe someone who knows for sure will read this & tell us.

John,
The part number for the block 4900aa is the same for the gas and diesel.

Hey Dave: Where do you live? I have a complete gas engine, 251cu in, I'd sell for $500.

Is it complete and running? Mine is pretty well wore out. I'm in WI.

Bill, I have a 400 diesel in SE Wi. I took it apart to overhaul it and then discovered how hard it is to find parts. Now I can't decide whether to finish the job, sell it apart, or part it out.

Hey Bill: It's complete but stuck. I bought it from a neighbor who scrapped the combine it came off from. supposedly low hours. It was stuck 8 years ago when I bought it, and I poured a bunch of oil down the cyl's when I got it. Haven't done anything to it.
