I am going to look at a 470 diesel this weekend but know little about Case tractors. Any advice on what to look for etc. Are there particular 'problems' w/ this model or was it a good model? Is there a Case specs page where I could check out the HP specs, etc. for a 470? Also, will a 470 handle a 6' bush hog? Thanks in advance. Brad

I agree 100% with the other comments, have had my 470 for over 10 years with nary a problem. Runs like a tank. If you can knock down the weeds with a 5 or 6 foot brush hog, you can cut them with it. Only problem I had of any significance is I broke a front steering spindle once - probably had been cracked for years 'cause it just dropped out from under me one day (fortunately at low speed). At that time Case still carried it for $290, now I would probably have to cruise junk yards. But I would buy another 470 diesel in a heartbeat.

Buy it and you'll probably never have to work on it. Super fuel efficient and dependable. I can almost promise you'll like it. My dad has a 570 that has been used so much it has worn out two sets of the hitch balls in the 3 point and the third set is almost worn out. Unbelievable little tractors.

The 470 diesel will put out 40 horsepower all day long and will use about one gallon per hour. It will play with a 6' chopper. It has a number of improvements over the 430: independent PTO, an oil return to the hydraulic torque tube if the rockshaft piston leaks, etc. It's a great small tractor.
