Cylinder not firing

I have a case 530 CK with a 4 cylinder Diesel engine (D188 I believe). While pulling stumps it lost any power that it had. It looked like it may have over heated and I heard a high engine knock like an injector was starving for fuel. I let it cool down changed all of the fuel filters, they were fairly dirty. I also cleaned the air filter, replaced the thermostat and put an addative to the fuel. When I started it up it ran fine for about 15 minutes then no power again and still a high engine knock. I let it cool down again and started it and could tell by feeling the manifold that the #2 cylinder was not firing. I took the injector out and had it checked. It was fine. Short of pulling the head does anyone have any suggestions?

Avoiding Problems: In the future do not risk a decent tractor on pulling stumps. May have been cheaper to hire a skilled backhoe and operator.
You could have taken several pictures of that activity and used your decent rig for lots of other tractor work. Hind sight is always better focused. Good luck in your troubleshooting and repair efforts.

Is the injector pump supplying fuel to the injector?

Yes, I pulled off the fuel line and there is plenty of fuel going to the injector..
Also, there appears to be no oil in the antifreeze or antifreeze in the oil.. There was a lot of grey oil around the air cap cominy out of the valve cover

Pull the valve cover and see if the valves move. Also, maybe some carbon is keeping one of them from closing. We're narrowing down the problem, although slowly.
