Ok folks.. Thanks in advance to all that have helped me up till now (mostly by reading the archives)

Here is the issue:

We have a 590CK Turbo. Firstit sat in the woods for a while before I took possession of it. Since we got it, we have changed the Hydraulic oil and filter and cleaned transaxle screen, replaced filter and fluid. Engine is strong and reliableall else operates fine.

The trouble: It runs just great for a few minutes after starting. All operates as it is supposed to. Then after an arbitrary time period BOTH brake peddles get HARD as nails and the backhoe is effectively worthless. It will NOT roll...it appears that the brakes are stuck fast. You can full-throttle it and it will grudgingly move, but not till the throttol is wide open (bad, bad, bad). So we let it sit. After a few minutes of sitting, the brake peddles get a little looser and the hoe will begin to roll again, but still not fully freewheeling like it should.

What I am thinking now is that I should do a flush and fill of the brake system and replace or rebuild the master cylinders in the hops that there is dirt in the lines causing the master cylinder pistons to operate improperly.

I am looking for information or options as to the real problem. Any help would be wonderful. I am also looking for a place I can find decent rebuilt master cylinders for this beast.

Thanks again for reading.

Farmer, I will take a shot at this for you. The first thing I need to know is do you have a rubber hose brake line in the system? If you do then do you have bleeder screws on the brake cylinders? If so when the brake pedal gets hard and you can not move it open one of the screws and close it . See if the tractor moves. If it does then crack the line before the rubber hose and see if you get the same thing to happen. My guess is that it has a blockage and fuid can not return to the master cylinder and it is holding presure on the cylinders. Just my thoughts
