I have a 430 D triple range. there are two dipsticks to check fluid levels,is the front one for the trans and the one under the seat for the torque tube? Were does the hydraulic pump get its fluid from?.also are the torque tube and transmission seperate or does the fluid move between the two?.how does the fluid get back to the trans from the 3pt hitch lift?.

The dipstick under the seat is for the transmission gear oil. The dipstick on the triple range shifter cover is for hydraulic oil. The torque tube is the hydraulic oil reservior. The tractor hyd pump pickup is from the torque tube reservoir.

The torque tube and transmission are separated at the interface flange just aft of the triple range shifter cover or as viewed from the right side, just inboard of the foot throttle. The torque tube hyd oil is the higher level and can leak into the transmission if the drive shaft seal, seal retainer gasket leaks and/or pinion shaft end cover gasket leaks. The hyd oil from the torque tube can be forced pass faulty eagle hitch piston seals into the transmission. There will be some seepage pass these piston seals but is negligible, just the nature of the beast. If normal operating oil levels are close, I dont know of any way that the transmission oil can leak into the hyd oil.

The eagle hitch has a single acting piston, the supply and return oil is the same line, controlled by the position of the lever operated control valve.

Thanks for the info Joe!. It helps alot. The next question can I put remotes on this tractor?. My plan is to use pump pressure from line that goes to 3pt hitch. and the return would go back to torque tube by way of the breather on top.

Don't you have two control valves? The control valves are stackable so it is possible you may have one only. I am not totally sure how you are setup on the 430.

On the 300-400's I have seen the eagle hitch hyd supply/return oil line attaches to the front of the interlock block on the right side of the lower control valve.

That interlock block is setup for single acting. To change it to double acting or 2 way, detach the block and put a 1/4" countersunk head pipe plug in the interior oil port. Bolt it back on the control valve. Hook up a line where the plug is aft of the present eagle hitch line. That will give you supply and return for remote double acting cylinders and will be controlled with the present hitch lever. If you just want to use these lines as supply and return to remote valves for a loader or whatever, wire down the hitch lever in either position depending on which line you want to be the supply and the other return.

If your hyd control system is other than what I have described above, I am not familiar with it.

Once again thanks Joe.The 430 I have has only one control valve. one more question!.How do I get pressure from the existing eagle hitch supply line?. Do I hook a line to the test plug under the seat?.

No you cannot use the test plug, the hitch piston would have the same pressure as the remote. You will need a selector valve in there to separate the two.

You now have a single-acting control valve/interlock block setup that can be changed to double-acting.

Check the link, find where you are now and figure out the best way to get where you want to be.

Hi Mike:

I'm just down the road outside Clayton. Buyer's Tractors (just outside Chrysler) likely has a valve if you wanted to add another. That's the way my 630 is set up. I don't know how much would be involved in installing it.
