This 411-B grinds a bit when you shift into gear. Is that something that can be adjusted out of the Case-O-Matic?

Thanks
Mike Johnston

Hi guys It gets worse than just grinding a little. I just became the proud owner of a '58 611B, have had no experiance with Caseomatic until now. The torque convertor seems to work fine and it shifts to direct drive ok. The transmission just grinds any time you try to shift with the motor running, even when warmed up and running at a slow idle, also there is very little or no resistance when the clutch pedal is pushed in. Any help will be appreciated.

Looks like a pretty nice tractor. I have a 610B.
Let me know what your friend will take for it.

Nope, they all grind. Make sure you use the right fluid in the tranny, TCH or equivalent, and shift at a low idle only. She will shift smoother when the fluid warms up, but for some reason you look like you are in a warm climate anyhow. Good luck and keep us posted how you make out. You can also start the tractor with it in gear, although accidents sometimes happen that way.

Yes, its a warm climate alright. The tractor is near Corrigan, Texas---DEEP East Texas.

I'll see what the fluid type is, and change it if need be.

Its not my tractor, but a friend asked me to help him sell it.

Mike
