I am happy to say that good progress has been made on my 1952 Case DC restoration project. I have some questions at this point. First, the gas tank cushions. What size are they? Do they only cover the CURVED area of the support? What are they made of? Does anyone have one they can sell me to answer these questions? Second, my oil filter has only one bolt per side attaching it to the engine. All others I have seen have two. My build card says it was factory equipped with a filter. Does anyone else have one like mine? Third, I have see some tractors that have a long tube, as long as the engine bolted on just below the head gasket on the right side. Is it made to carry wires or the temp. gauge cable? Should my tractor have one? Thanks, Bruce

Bruce,
The tube on the side of the block contains the magneto ground wire, the generator to ammeter wire and the headlight wire (on a D standard). I am not sure the if the temperature cable is included or not, but I suspect that it is. Don

Bruce, the pads are 3/16" thick about 1 1/2" wide by 2 1/2" long. The oil filter on my 49 DC has 4 mounting bolts. I had a 50 DC parts tractor that had the tube on the side of the engine but my 49 DC did not have one.
