I have a 1950 SC that I want to change the transmission oil on.Can anybody tell me how to check the full level? My manual tells me it takes 10.75 gals, Case IH tells me it 17 gals.which is right?

Thanks, Daryl

For what it's worth, my S manual says 9 gallons. When I got my tractor a little over a year ago the guy said he had changed the fluids. No sooner than I parked it I began getting dripping from both sides through the brakes.

I checked the rear end level and found it to be over-full as grease ran out when plug was pulled. I figure I leaked 1 to 2 gallons of rear end grease through the brakes (I had a bucket under each side) then it stopped.

Checked the fluid level yesterday before going to mow. Rear end was right at the fill plug in back.

So, fill it to the plug on rear end and stop. I am going to change mine soon to see what it holds, but I bet I'd have to have it facing downhill to get 11 gallons in it.
