I have been having problems with the 430 burning points. I installed a resistor on it and it is worse than ever. I have a positive ground, but noticed on a previous post that the ignition wire is hooked to the positive side of the coil. According to the previous post, a positive ground should have the positive side going to the distributor. Is this causing my problem or should I look somewhere else?

The positive side of the coil should have its wire going to the distributor. Your problem with burned up points is with the condenser. Look for the direction in which material builds up on the points. If material transfers from the negative to the positive side, decrease the condenser capacity. Do the opposite if it's the other way.

check to see if you have current on the points all the time.
