Can the heads from any other models be used to replace heads on 700 diesel?

I think the heads off a 377 may work, but if memory serves me right they have smaller valves. I have been told to increase power to the 377 use the 800 heads because of the bigger valves. I'm sure the 930 heads have different bolt pattern.

If I am not mistaken a 730 has different head bolt pattern. Scott R. from tenn. and I was talking the other night about his 700 rebuild. He was sent 730 gaskets and they would not line up with the bolt holes. 730 and 930 are the same as is 830 and 1030. But, I think on the older ones they do not interchange with the 30 series. That is why I parted out a nice looking 800 D could not afford a set of heads for it.

The original casting number is A11800. The heads are the same as the 800 diesel and likely the 900. 730 or 930 heads should work alright as they have the same bolt pattern and fuel injectors. 830 and 1030 used a wider bolt/stud pattern... Gene

Heads of a 800 should interchange. You might see what your casting number is.
