I have a 1957 case 310, the radiator fluid looks like chocolate milk and when I took the temperature sensor out of the block oil poured out with the fluid. Is this a blown head gasket or what? If it is can somone tell me how to fix it and where I might get a gasket. Thanks, Steve

1957 CASE 310; 4 CYL, 148 CID GAS, XMSN 12F-3R, 29 HP?, 4300 LBS. LO 1390, MID 2040, HI 2570
HEAD GASKET WOULD MOST LIKELY HAVE A HAIRLINE CRACK BETWEEN 2 CYLINDERS. THAT WILL MESS UP COMPRESSION AND PERFORMANCE OF THE TRACTOR.
YOU PROBABLY HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING HOW MANY HOURS THIS TRACTOR HAS TOILED.
WE LOOKED AT A SIMILAR CASE 310 WITH A LOADER
AND IT SMOKED OUT THE STACK AND HAD VERY POOR
ENGINE ACCELERATION. OUR OLD TIMER MECHANIC LOOKED IT OVER AND WE SENT IT BACK TO THE OWNER
NOT WORTHY OF SPENDING THE REPAIR COINS.
IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR WILLINGNESS TO TAKE ON THE REPAIRS NEEDED AND HAVING ENUF COINS TO BRING IT BACK TO SNUFF.

After the tractor has sit for a while, drain a little oil out of the bottom of the oil pan to see if there is antifreeze in it. Was the coolant clean until recently?

possibly head gasket , or worse.

a cracked head or block in the worst case, not much you can tell until you take the head off and check. You don't have an oil cooler do you?
if so check any thing like that first,

Roger what kind of oil cooler are you talking about and where would it be on my tractor (1957 case 300)? Also what would a blown head gasket look like? Thanks for the info, steve
