Little levers on L ??

Hey guys, just got my first L home. Was wondering what the two little levers were for on the steering column. One is of course the throttle, and I thought the other one would probably retard/advance the mag, but it is not hooked up and there doesn't seem to be a timing adjustment lever on the American Bosch Mag that is on it. So now I am not sure what is was for.
Thanks for the help.

The original equipment American Bosch mag for the L has a disc with a lever on one side, below the distributor cap. I can't remember the model number for the mag, but I'll check it when I visit my L this afternoon.

As far as normal operation, you don't really need the manual-advance mag for burning gasoline. If you want to burn kerosene, or if you're going for complete authenticity, you do. If you like to like to hear an engine idle down to where you can count 'em off, with the manual mag you can retard the spark almost to the kill switch, and the L will idle really slowly without ever missing a beat.

Yeah, Originally it was a retard lever, but the Mags often got changed.
