Has anybody ever took the concrete weights out of the rear wheels? I want to lighten up the weight of an L and would like to take the concrete out of the rear spokes.

The calcium is alot easier, and certainly non-destructive, to remove than the concrete. I'd do that first, weigh the difference and rework or replace the trailer. Case would not have put the concrete in the spokes unless it was needed for a reason > such as spoke strength and of-course draft weight where it's needed to pull an impliment. PS, Save the calcium/water, you may just want it put it back-in if you want to use the tractor as a tractor. Unless it's going to spend the rest of it's life as a display, not workin' > how Sad!

BT-DT, but w/Farmall. Mask, goggles, long sleeves, leather apron, leather gloves, air powered muffler gun & LOTS of patience. You'll probably have to replace the tips after you get done if you want to use the gun for its intendended purpose. I was suprised at how good a condition the spokes were in. I have to do something. The tractor has the spokes filled with concrete, and the tires filled with calcium. It is too much for my trailer. Probably hard on the tractor too.

I have thought of doing the same thing with my 1930 Model L. It always looked like a major undertaking so I have not tried it. The concern that I have is in damaging the wheel or the spokes. I am also interested in what everyone thinks....
