I bought a case tractor from the photo ad forum a few weeks ago.The tractor pictured had all around weights,When the tractor arrived,the weights had all been torched off.He also said it had 540 pto and came with 1000.How can I warn others of this person who has since posted more tractors.He wont reply to me on this.

I guess I was lucky also. I bought a 1030 Case from a couple of guys in northeast Iowa, and couldn't have been happier with the deal when the tractor arrived. They were honest the whole time, and told me everything! It only takes a few to screw it up for everybody else though..... ...hope you come out alright!

Our 70 series tractors they are like caseman said you just pull the pto out and turn it around to switch between 540 & 1,000. I might have some extra weights if you don't have any luck getting yours.

I did hear back from the person who sold me the tractor,He said he told me when we made the deal that he wanted the weights and also tried to contact me about the 1000 pto misunderstanding,That is a lot of bull,I have the printed photo and his replies but for the hassel I will just say,beware of one, in Kansas.Most people one this forrum are great people and practice the Golden rule.Hats off to you,Dave

Dave,
Have you called the guy and dicussed this with him. Did you by chance have a copy od the photo ad that had the weights in it. I don't know what model of case you bought but some of them had a 1000 and 540 pto and all you need to do is pull the shaft and turn it around. If you have pictures of the tractor with weights then you may have a good chance for small claims court or maybe better that it's not the tractor you bought. Talk to the guy first and try to work it out before taking legal action. Am curious did the tractor come from MN????

Lay it out here on the board. But before you do, let him read your draft message. Give him one more chance to think about the results to his credibility when it's posted. I can't imagine that a person would sell his reputation for a couple of wheelweights and a PTO adapter....on the other hand, there are folks on death row for much less!

Dave;

It seems the only way some people can make an honest living is to lie cheat and steal. On the other hand,he may have sent you the wrong tractor.
