How much would you give for a 1963 830 c.o.m diesel. I think its lock up but it has good sheet metal and almost new back tires. I dont want to give more then I can get back out of it.

just bought one at auction in march. paid $2700 for it in good running condition with straight sheet metal, but with a few oil leaks. would question spending spending much more that $1000 for one not running. you'll spend a lot of time and money running around looking for parts.

Case kid, there are a lot of variables that will affect value. You can spend a lot of money on a diesel engine if someone works on it for you. If you have the knowledge and tools to fix it, it may just need freeing up and my not cost a whole lot of money(just time/work). A running tractor like that may range from 1000 to 3000 depending on appearance, hydraulics, pto, steering, oil leeks, etc. That beeing said, I paid 3500 for a restored propane 830 and then bought my dad's 830 diesel for 4500 that I spent more on to restore it.(It had sentimental value to me). A long answer to a short question.
