I was wondering what some of the first models/years case offered a machine with a factory cab on it and what size of machines, and info in general on them. Was thinkin it might be kinda nice to have a cab for fall/spring plowing/discing up here in Northern wisconsin and though if they made a vintage machine with a cab might have to look for one.

Thanks for you input/answers

We have a very nice factory cab on our 930 Comfort King.

Glenn, are you sure that the cab was manufactured by Case? We had a 930 around plus used a 1030 from LaPean Imp for two Springs and both had cabs supplied by aftermarket sources. If you have volume two by Stonehouse and Brumbaugh check page 38, this was the aftermarket cab on both our 930 and the borrowed 1030. No rollover protection that came with the 70 series cabs.

As the gentleman said the "L" series did have a cab option but they are few and far between. The first tractors that came with factory cabs were the "70" series, IE- 770-1070.

I believe some of the model L's had an optional factory cab. Model L was made from 1929 to 1940
I had seen a picture of this in the illustrated buyers guide of case tractors by Peter Letourneau.

Hey c-case:

I saw a Case L with a cab at the Almelund show last year. I'd seen the illustrations in the books- but this is the first one I had ever seen in real life.

Took lots of pictures in case I ever needed to know how they were built.

Here are two of them:

That looks like Darrell Dey's L. A picture of it, taken at Case Expo in 1992 at Rollag, appeared on a cover of Heritage Eagle.

According to a Case catalog of the period, they also made a summer cab that was a canvas cover over arched ribs. It was supported by adjustable posts at the 4 corners.

That is Darrells L. I was talking with him last year at Alemelund while those photos were being snapped.

I guess Schotte didin't get my good side in the pic so he cropped me out of it.

Gee thanks Mike.....so much for my chance at 15 minutes of fame....guess I'll have to keep on auditioning for "America's Most Wanted".

Oh Dr.,

Don't pull that- you were two tractors away when I took those pics!

I never met the owner of that tractor. I think you must have caught up with him later while I was off driving that DI. (grin)
