I have found 2 Case 1200s, same owner. The newest
one for US$6.500 with 8 forward speeds and 30,5 X
32 tires with 50 percent left and a cab. The old
one for US$ 5.500 with 6 speeds forward, and 18,4
X 30 tires. Are these good or bad tractors ?
anything to be aware of ?

Anything to be aware off? Yes, if you need to truck have a BIG hauler. They are heavy. HP is not that great by moder days standard, just lots of pull. I had the 6 speed. Pretty much a one gear tractor. About 41/2 mph. Other gears to fast or too slow. They had 24 volt system, alternator and starter. The 24 volt regulator is high priced. I replaced with a GM 12 volt alternator and a trucker type switch that charged 2 12 volt batteries then switch to 24 when starting. They are so rugged that hard to hurt them. Oh, a little thought- if the P Steering is slugish, there is a filter under your left foot that is part of the other hyd system that runs the PS. Some body on E-bay has a transmission he trys to sell every few months.
