FYI>Talking to a business associate today and asked him what the piston on his desk was from. IH M-D. had been run with broken rings and was stuck hard from rain. He said he tried diesel and would burn the diesel off once/week and tap. no luck. He removed the diesel and tried PB-Blaster and it started to seep (sp) through. He ended up blocking off the valves (with JBweld???) and made a grease fitting adaptor for the sparkplug hole and started to pump in grease (they can put in alot of pressure) and got it to move. AFter that it came right apart.

I used a hydraulic jack on a 500. Made a wooden post that fit the cylinder & parked her under the barn beam - put pressure on with the jack, let solvent soak in a week or so & smacked the other piston going down & loose she came.

Tom, Tell me if I get this right? You are hooking up a hydralic hose to the plug hole (You have made an adapter?) on a stuck cylinder and applying pressure. You must take the rocker arms off first to keep the valves closed? Right? Or, are you talking about putting a hydralic ram, like a jack, under the engine and pushing up?

Hey DCTOM: It's been a long week, so I'm a little thick. Could you give a little more detail as to how you do it. BYW, where is the 5/8 Nut on the "D" you refer to?

YES, BREAK PORCELIN OUT OF SPARK PLUG AND WELD ON A 1/2" coupling. screw in engine what has piston close to the top and hook to hyd on tractor, dont pump till it is al l the way down if engine goes on center hard toget to move again, nut goes on top of relief spring on hyd pump for a little more pressure
