I am wandering what a black knight 970 is worth very rough condition, has cab, 18-4-34 tires. Are these very rare tractors. Also the brass tag in the cab is gone (the one that tells what dealer had it), but the serial number says that it is a true demonstrator. Is it still just as valuable as a demo with out this tag even if you have the biuld card from the factory to prove it is a demo. Thanks

Just wondering where you would find the brass tag, or how you know the serial # is a true demonstrator. Our 970 was black before we bought it from the dealer who had traded it back in the early 80's - but they said it was a demonstrator at one time. They painted it like the normal tractors are painted before we bought it as part of the deal as I guess the black paint was pretty bad (I was less than 10 when we got it - don't remember it all). I'm wondering if we don't have a demonstrator, and I'd sure be interested in painting back to the original demo colors if it is one.

It has a turbo on it - if it was a demonstrator model with a turbo on it that wouldn't have been much of a fair comnparison as it can stomp on our 1070 pretty hard with that turbo on it! You can do any task in 3rd range and never run out of juice - just traction.

If your 970 has a turbo someone installed that. To my knowledge there weren't any 970's or 1070's with factory turbos.
