Okay I'm usually a Red guy, but I got an Eagle hitch plow this week and I got a few questions. Since IH and case merged I figured that you guys would'nt mind helping me out seein' how we're practically related, like inlaws or somethin'. So here goes...
I can't find any number to identify what model this is. It's in pretty good condition, mostly needs paint but it could also use new shares and moldboards to make it like brand new. I need a copy of a manual if posible. Where can I find new shares and moldboards? The shares have SK14D on them, (I assume they're 14" shares) all I can find on the moldboards are a K. What color should this be? It appears to be originally orange but was painted over with green, the tail wheel has a cream colored paint on it also. Does the top part of the hitch that swivels come out? It appears to have some sort of latching device in the front. I'm going to try to post a pic here but if it does'nt show up I'll repost it in the "Help identify" section. Thanks alot, btw when's the family reunion?

John,

That is a BER series plow , if it was made for a DC or at least that vintage , the plow beams
were red, the top piece was green and the tail wheel was green . The top does come off as it is the trip for the plow when striking a rock or whatever. There is a spring and dog mounted in the lower part and is adjustable . I think when the two tone tractors came out
the tail wheel changed color. I had a two bottom with pointed shares and a three bottom with straight shares , not sure the three bottom wasn't a different model but it looked the same except for the straight shares.

George thanks. What was the time frame of the DC tractors vs. the two tone era? I'm thinking this was originally orange and cream colored. Anyone out there got shares and mold boards?

John,

DC with eagle hitch 51 thru 53 , i think.

mine is 53 , we bought it new with a two bottom

plow . Many years later I put an M & W kit in

it and traded the 2 plows for 3 plows , did well

most of the time . When the soil was right the

hired help would hitch to the 4 bottom semi-

mount for the 730 , did well in the flat land

but didn't like the steep hills.
