I have an 1150 dozer with a 401 engine in it and would like to know what tractors came with this engine in years around 1971 also I need a starter and would like an inter change number to help find one. Thanks Wayne

Most 1150's used the 401 CID power cell motor without a decompression lever, and it was rated at 104 horsepower. That's the same motor used in the mid-sixties in the 930. Later, Case started using the power cell 451 CID motor which is found in the 1030. Either one will work in the 1150.

You have to be careful since Case made three different model of 1150 with little bit of difference on the 401 engine some have de-compressor some don't depending of the serial number and the same thing applies to 930 Case tractor that had the same engine about but again in the 930 depending on the serial number they had both type also. As for the starter I check in the three manual and it all comes down to the same thing which is Case part #R26137 or Delco Remy #1113998

The 401 was also used in the 970. We have extra parts from ours. We just tore it apart and bought a new motor.
