Live hydraulics on SC- pump?

I know that some SC's had internal pto diven hydraulic pumps (via a chain in the rear diff housing), but how about live hydraulics driven off the distributor gear? Is there such a pump for an SC? My '43 has the delco distributor conversion, but there is a small plate with three bolts on the end of this assembly- will a hydraulic pump bolt/plug in here?

I have a rather large single stage gear pump that I would like to add- but has anyone ever heard of the cam gears wearing out because of the extra load of a big pump? I know SC parts are getting more and more scarce and the last thing I want to do is ruin my cam gears.

By the way- I am currently using a truck power steering pump bolted up in place of my generator as my live hydraulic pump. This gives plenty of pressure for my front end loader- however it doesn't have a high enough gpm output so my front end loader moves very very slowly. Also I fear that the extra play that I have noticed in my water pump bearing might have something to do with the extra load of running this pump.

There was a Case DI up for auction on Ebay recently that had a hydraulic pump mounted after the Delco distributor. IH ran a lot of pumps this way. The only time I have ever seen the gear tear up was when ice got in the pump and locked it up. You may find a pump off an AC or IH that would work for you.

Hafta look around. Case made a pump to go between the gov and the mag, used it on the SP9- SP12 combines for the header hydraulics. As for wear on the cam gear, yeah it prob speeds things up a bit.

I have a live pump mounted as you mentioned. It mounts ahead of the dist. conversion and has input and output the same as the flange mount mag. The bad news is that it is not much higher GPM than what you have. It is designed as a power steering pump and I don't think it pumps much more than 5 GPM. LOL
