in your research for Case Dealerships, have you run across the name H. E. Syvertsen? I have a piece of Case memorabilia that has his name on it as a dealer, but I have no idea where he was from.

I am sorry to say I haven't run across that name. Case supposedly had 3500 dealers in 1950. They tried to set one up every 7-10 miles in good farming country. I have about 600 dealers so far. Do you have any idea if this dealer might be from Ohio? Don

This dealer would not have been from Ohio, I don't believe. I bought this at a flea market while I was stationed in Minot, North Dakota. So, I would assume he would be from a northern plain state, or possibly from Canada. What I have has a picture of a CC Case on steel with a full set of cultivators, so I would imagine that this dealer would have been from the 30s. I haven't been able to find out anything more, and was hoping you had ran across something.

I am also working on some information about the Case dealership that my father worked for back int he 70's. Once I get all of the information together, I'll send you another page.

With a name like Syvertsen I am not surprised it might be from the Dakotas or Minnesota. I will record it and hope to find more information someday. Thanks for your help.

Don, I'm not sure about Koob Bros. Loosebrock told me that when he bailed out of case in about 1964 he was $100,000 worse than broke. He went on to make some money in the drainage (tile) business. Anyway, I am sure that Risius, or Reisus (Sp?) was located in Brownsdale, MN. It could be that they had a relative at that other location. The father, who started the dealership went by the name of "Joker" and the son Jim may still be in business. They became a White dealer when IH was bought out by Case.

I've posted a picture of the slide under Vintage Photos. I'm going to try to attach it here, but I've not done this before, so I'm not sure if it will take.
