Hi Don,

This kind person typed in all the info you need into the auction description for this Ebay item.

Check and see if you've got that dealer.

They are still open as a New Holland dealer, when I was there they had the shop FULL of Cases and still sold Case part. I got the impression that they wanted absolutly nothing to do with IH, but who could blame them for that!!!

If you go into any CASEIH dealer today its like the Case part of the heritage never existed. Its my opinion that Case was not able to keep a lot of the IH customers that they thought would come almost automatically with the buyout. They also alienated a lot of dealers (and customers)by who they chose to survive, almost always the IH dealer who had more dollar volume. Many times the Case dealer had less sales only because they did not have a full line of equipment to offer as Case had only tractors in the late 70's and early 80's. I'm pleased to hear Hurke's has survived and hasn't forgotten! Thanks for the info. Don

Don- the nice lady at the Denver Library Reference desk found a couple items for you.

J I Case Threshing Machine Co
1800 15th St.
C. F. Calame, Branch Mgr.
listed in the colorado business directory from about 1927-1950
(btw- 1800 15th street is now downtown Denver- about a block from where the Pepsi Center stands today) and

Standard Implement Co,
4810 Vasquez Blvd. Tabor 5-4867
(4810 Vasquez Blvd. is now in a more industrial part of Denver- Just a little north of I-70) Standard was listed in the phone books around 1955- 1960

Shoot me an e-mail if you want and I'll send some of the other guys names that worked at the 15th street location. I think that was the central distribution warehouse at the time as it also would have been close to the railroad yards.

Hope thats helpful
David

David,
Thank you very much for the information! The first location is more than likely what Case called a Branch House-where they kept large invetories of machinery and parts for somewhat speedy delivery for those days. These were always near good rail service. The second location must be very near where my companies Denver licensee is now located. 5250 N. Sherman St just off Washinton a couple blocks north of I-70.

I plugged the addresses into Yahoo maps. Looks like your business is about 3 miles away from the old spot. Too bad they're not still there- they'd be my closest dealer at only two hours away- LOL. Will send more if I find it
