If Schotte's and his wife come up, I'll buy her ticket. He has to bring his SC with him though...

The Georgetown show is a nice show. They have an excellent turn out of hit and miss engines and tractors from Hart Parrs to 4020 JD's. I have not taken a tractor to this show but I have been to it the last three years or so. I like to go down on Sunday when they have the car show going on as well.

The OVAM does have you purchase a membership to show your equipment, so that you would be covered under the club's insurance during the show in case of an accident. YOu do have to buy a membership for your wife, and if you camp, I believe the camping fee is $10, but I am awaiting a return phone call to confirm that. I'll make another posts as soon as I find out.

You can email me directly if you have any other questions.

While I can see your point of view, let me ask you this. Do you think shows like this operate for free? Things like insurance, utilities and facilities for the grounds cost $$$. We are not asking our exhibitors to become a member just to line the club's pocketbook. It is done so that we can afford the insurance in case of an accident. And they do happen. If you don't believe me, ask the folks up in Medina. And our membership fee is only $10 per member, which is a lot cheaper than a lot of others shows out there.

I'm sorry that you feel as you do, bu you must understand that we only do this so we can put out a quality product, in a SAFE, fun and interesting show for everyone

I'm active in the greater Phoenix, Az area shows. In fact we have one this weekend. My comment is this: I would never take and pull my tractor at a show were membership is not required (free) No Insurance. I can't afford it.I'll be happy to pay the $10.00. Just wait until the first mishap and then it is to late. Just my 2 cents worth. Lowell

I am a member of Southeastern Kentucky Gas & Engine & Tractor Association. Our show is first weekend in Oct. You do not have to be a member to show and we do carry insurance for all. Just my 5 worth.

Sorry I was incorrect. No membership needed to show only, but required for the antique tractor pull. The membership is required on the pull because of insurance reasons.

I show several shows in Kentucky every year and none down here says you have to be a member of their club. They usually charge 5 to 10 dollars for electric hookup for all the show. Your wife gets in free when you go in.
