My Case 1490 is a mess. Past workers on it did not properly do the needed repairs, engine blew, and it's going to need a new (USED) engine block and crankshaft, etc. I have a good guy working on it, but he doesn't know when or where he'll find an engine, and I can't wait forever. Any ideas?
It's in a 1000 pieces right now! p.s Am located in KY but willing to travel reasonably far.

I tried to post this once, may both show up :-). Try Pleasent Hill Farm Supply in Pleasureville, KY. Also if you want to email I've got a theory or two.

Cranks are scarce for these. I got mine from Valu Built Tractor Parts. Might be able to get a crank and weld the block?

Found a Case engine at a tractor parts place in Cummings, Alabama -- bought whole engine and crankshaft. Made the drive yesterday. Was listed in a farm magazine. Thanks to any who gave tips or researched this.

Try Carmichael tractor in White Pine, TN. Buck has several DB that he is junking. There were a couple of 14's sitting there. 865 674 2229 should get somebody on est time.
