Just got a 1951 [I think] VAC. It has most of the Eagle hitch, motor runs strong, needs new tires, has a car radiator in it, and the electrics are, well, lets just say I don't know it stays running, after we jump directly to the starter...All the gauges are broken, and none of the switches work, in any position...have to shut it off with the gas pet-cock....But the good part is I didn't give any long green for it...The serial tag is screwed to the right place, but it's supposed to be rivited....The tag says vac5572783, and the motor stamping says 72-E13137 Is there any way to tell if this is the right serial tag? Thanks for any help....

Subtract 4 from the first 2 digits of the serial number to get the year. This works for most of the Flambeau series except for the later ones. I have had 3 Cases over the years - all of the serial number plates have been screwed on.

Art, A factory installed eagle hitch with LP hydraulic pump makes it 1949 or later.

The engine serial nr is a VTA-1072 engine assembly and is ballpark for '51. My '53 Vac is 72-G05214 the same engine, the "G" making it later in the sequence.

Case Vac manual RAC 258 Has a pix of the serial number tag VAC5551146 mounted on the dash with screws.
