Here is what I found out today. The S series depending on the year had a 3 1/2 in bore and later increased it to 3 5/8. You can still get new 3 5/8 sleeves from Case. You have to purchase everything seperate now. Case part number is A8685 for the sleeve. If interested email me.

Thanks for the information, where we are there was one Case dealer that quit the bussiness in probably late 60's-early 70's and anouther about 15 mile away that I just found out about 3 year ago (I am 60, Friend with tractor about 68?) that must have closed in 60's or earlier, only place for parts is IH dealer, can get things but customer has to have part numbers. Nobody in area that familar with Case.

With your help we have found that we can get the sleeve from Case thru IH dealer 15 mile away. What we are up against now is needing part No. for Rocker Cover Gasket, Head Gasket, the 2 water outlet gaskets, the o ring the sleeve seals to, the pan gasket and the crankshaft seals, if dealer doesnt have numbers can't find.

Thanks, Leroy lesfarm@bright.net

This is a friends tractor, I thought when he said 2 5/8" that was kind of small but I only posted what he told me. We do know that it is not an orignal case sleeve that would be avaible from Case but that it is a sleeve from an aftermarket (TSC) (M&W)? over size high compression overhaul kit, the tractor was overhauled several year ago, then parked in the woods till the front wheels rusted off, valves stuck on 2 cylinders, tried to pull start it and had bent push rods, valves were gotten free, not run but cranked over every once in a while, always free untill he just got around to working on it, when was tight, pulled no.3 plug cylinder full of anti freese and anti freese in oil. Could a standard sleeve be rebored to the oversize? If he can't find a sleeve then the tractor will be shiped off for parting.

I'm sure you mean 3 5/8 inch. Case part was A9479. I 'm sure that number will change to an idividual sleeve. I thought I had crossed them to the new number but I may have crossed the 3 1/2 bore one. I will try to check for sure on this tomorrow at work and let you know.
