I have a chance to purchase a case 1270 - 1978 model with turbo, 1000 pto, duals,and up dated ac in cab. has a powershift tranny on 7700 hrs and for sale at 5800.oo- is this a good tractor, or should i pass for an ih 986 or 1086 or jd 4320 ? we will be pulling a 21 ft field cultivator, and 5 shank chiselplow will be its hardest work... what do you think....Thanks!

We have 2 1370's, they about the same thing as a 1270, and we love them. I just saw a beautiful 1270 with 3600 hours sell at an auction for $11,500!

We have 2 of them and they are pretty dependable tractors. That is a lot of hours so I assume the rearend, tranny, and engine have all been rebuilt and/or updated. The price seems a bit high for the hours unless it is extremely clean. None the less I would go for it over the IH's and I am just not a Deere fan!

I will let others speak to the details but my brother has a 1270 (126hp.) and it is an EXCELLENT tractor. Very nice to operate.
