Got home this evening to find the UPS guy got his work-out for the day. Wheel weight #5364A sitting on the front porch! It's in good condition. Has two of the four J-hooks. $25 seemed fair enough. I plan on having another one cast someday if I don't run accross one in the meantime. My SC and DC will both have adjustable wide front ends on them when I'm done. I figure I can switch the 16" wheels from the DC to the SC if I ever feel like it The weight is for a 16" wheel...I think.

Good luck with them adj. wide front ends. When I used to plow with our DC/wfe it seems every time you got to the end of the field and had to cross a furrow or just "dropping back in" the wheels would turn sideways and break the stops off! Think we had them welded and cobbed up 30 times only to break them again. But thats why a DC has
that big ole crank, to pry the wheels back when the steering arms go over center.

Did your DC have a fast steering ratio? I have never driven a DC with AWF but I know our '41 DC had a fast ratio and the '51 had a slow. Both had narrow fronts. While the '41 was nice for planting and cultivating it was near dangerous in rough ground and tilling situations as the front wheels would catch a little something and the steering wheel would slam to one direction, smashing your hand or arm. This never happened with the '51. Also, would a mounted plow be better as the front end would be lighter?
