Where is the release valve on the hydraulic system to release a hay fork? Am asking this question for my father-in-law who has this problem with his 1970 454 Diesel International. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for your help. It's a 3 point hitch. I gave my father-in-law the information yesterday. He tried to work with the tractor a bit and decided that he might tear something up. He ended up having the dealer come get it to fix it.

Hi Ann, what do you mean by release valve? There is optionnal remote control valve, for operation of external equipment like logs-splitter. You can add a no-factory control easily by by-passing the hydrolic system like for a front end loader. Bernard le mcano Qubec Canada

There is a detachable fork that is used to pick up round bales that attaches to the rear of the tractor. We use it on other tractors. The hydraulic system froze up and we can not get the fork to release. The repair shop says that there should be a hydraulic release valve so that we can get the fork loose. My father-in-law can not find it. We do not have any of the manuals for this tractor. Plus, as you can probably tell, I don't know much about tractors. I hope that the above explanation makes sense.

Hi Ann, it's like attachment for fork-lift or just home made fork? Do you hook up on 3 points hitch and operate up and down like a plow? A friend of mine, move round bales with a kit from a fork-lift, he hook that on 3 points and operate the fork with remote. If the hitch won't release on load, there is internal adjusment, under the tractor seat, by the smaal cover. Make sure that the draft lever( near the fender ) is all the way down.
