Does any of you folks have the deminsions for a rear light bracket for a VAC. By the parts book it appears to be just a piece of flat bar with a 90 deg. bend on one end with three holes drilled in it. Any info would be appreciated
Pete

NO NO NO. FIT, you're completely wrong! :) OR maybe our VAC is wrong? Who knows how many times Case changed this little bracket!

Here are some pictures of our 1949 VAC:

That is supposed to be a 1/4 inch thick bar. My blueprints are a little confusing!

The top hole also looks like a 1/2 inch hole, both with the center 1/2 an inch from the end of the bracket.

The measurements are the best I could get with a tape and a flashlight!

Well, in one of Chicken's earlier posts he indicated his tractor had an Eagle Hitch, so his tractor would have used VT-3091, or VT-3141, which would have the 3/4" hole to accomodate the retaining chain for the top link, with the 1/2" hole near the end for the lamp mounting. Also it would have been mounted on the left side of the seat scizzors so as not to interfere with the Eagle Hitch lift lever.

If his VAC were before 5400000, then his tractor would use the bracket that you posted, which is the VT-3806, and then Yes, I would have been wrong.

Just kidding about the "wrong" part! Our VAC doesn't have the Eagle hitch, so your bracket is definitely the way to go! One of these days I need to get a VAC parts book to know all these little changes.

Sorry about being terse, Brandon, but the last guy who told me he was kidding did so after three posted hate mails on Rummy's.

I no longer have that kind of sense of humor.

Thanks Frank,
about how thick is the flat bar, and if you have the deminsion to the centerline of the hole for the link pin.
Thanks Pete

Pete:

Near as I can tell the bar is 3/16", though it calipered at .205" due to the paint and primer.

The lynch pin hole is offset towards the seat end, by 1 inch so that it is 2" from the seat and 4" from the far end.

Well I sure do appreciate your time Frank
I did not make my self clear on which tractor I wanted the bracket for.
I have a 50 VAC 5453114 and a 46 VAC 5066998
the 50 has the Eagle (claw type) hitch with low pressure hydraulics, the 46 has the Case Eagle Hitch (Conversion Type) for VA Tractors Equiped with High Pressure Hydraulic Pump. The part you showed is for the 50 Case part # VT3141 which mounts on the left side of the seat braket? and the part Brandon showed is for the 46 Case part # VT3090 and mounts to the right side of the seat bracket?
I need to make both brackets one for each so all the info is well appreciateed.
Thank you again for your time Frank.

PS I have seen the pics of your tractor you have posted in the past and must say you have done a great job. Make sure you get some pics up when you finish.
Pete
