My old computer was a snail! I had a friend over tonight and we doubled the RAM from 64 to 128. It's a rocket now! Many times I couldn't get on the website before. I always had to go on at off hours. What $25 can do!

I have read some discussion on this post about such problems but no conclusions. By most people's standard this computer is still a snail but it's much more useable anyway. As you said, 100mb of memory from Gateway=$90. $25 at Best Buy. Works for me! I'm just now wondering, are we talking domestic vs. foreign? Best Buy memory is made in Korea. Glenn F.

I didn't see where the new strip was made but the 256mb strip that came in the computer came from Maylasia. We can't make anything in this country anymore.

Glenn, I put another 512Mb in mine a few days ago, helped on some things, no better on other applications. 100 bucks at Office Max, Gateway wanted $279. I don't know if this thing has a bug of some kind that is slowing it down or what, but Norton & Spykiller isn't finding anything.
