Hi guys, was just reading a post back a ways about an Old Abe going for over 7000 on ebay, and didn't meet the reserve, WOW!!!! I knew they were a hot item, but man alive thats just about nuts!! I know where there is one sitting in front of a high school, it came from one of the old Case dealers around here many years ago. Bruce Nelson knows which one I mean!! Bruce and I were discussing it one night and he said theres not enough beer in Wisconsin to give me enough will to get that thing, but I still have to disagree with him, I think there's enough!! Ahh, just kidding!!! Wow though, 7000 bucks! Man what I could do to the DC with that kind of cash..... LOL

Larry, there is a place in South Western ont. (DUBLIN) that makes concrete lawn ornaments. They have a mould to pour them. They look good but base is square and you need a fork truck to unload it when you get it home.

A Lady in our town has one sitting by her garage. Her husband had been a mechanic for the local Case dealer for many years.
There's been a couple of attempts to steal it by local kids, but so far it has been recovered and returned each time.
Years ago I bought a life size cast-iron deer that had stood at a JD dealership. The last owner had gotten so disgusted with people trying to steal it out his front yard (4wd pickups & logchains at midnight) that he just got rid of it!

Larry, the one off the Eau Claire Memorial high school went for $8500 at the auction at LaPean Implement last fall. As the days go by those things only go up in value. Wouldn't it be nice to have a shed full to auction off a couple of times a year!

Yeah, wouldn't that be great!!! If only a guy would have known years ago. Of course hindsight is always 20/20! And of course, back when they were still available, I wasn't old enough to even conceive the idea! LOL I didn't realize the one on ebay was in Canada, like a post earlier said, exchange rate brings it to around 9000, man, the old DC could really sing with that kind of funding!!! LOL
