Question 1. How do I drain the trans oil from a 1948 VAC

Question 2. Should it (the oil) have the same color as pancake batter?

Questin 3. The square openings on the sides of the 48 VAC (just above the front wheels) what are they used for?

Thanks
Dave

Thanks to everyone that helped with questions 1-4. Also I do have the operators manual, but since it is from 1948 and I wasn't around then, some of the lingo is hard for me to understand :} I would rather get it from oldtimers that were -- (ouch! ;} )

Once again thanks for your help!

1. You drain the trans fluid under the bottom of the transmission. 2. The color is because you have water in the oil. 3. The square holes are for mounting implements such as cultivators. If I be of any help, you are welcome to email me. Good Luck , Bob

1. Drain plug is on the bottom. Original plug has a recessed square drive. You just about have to crawl under to spot it the first time.

2. Pancake color is emulsion (water).

3. Square hole in front support is for implement attachment.
