Another 830 question

On that 830...I pulled the injection pump off about a week ago. I simply didn't want to be messing around, trying to pull the front end and engine, with that rather expensive piece hanging there with a "Hit me" sign on it.

The pump has some safety wire on some of the screws, namely the screws that hold the cover plate on the rear of the pump. The bolt above that plate also has safety wire going through it, as well as the adjustable stop screw for the throttle linkage.

I am by no means an injection pump expert, but I thought that the pump adjustments were on these screws with the safety wire. It would seem that whoever put the wire on the screws didn't want anyone to tamper with the adjustments.

So, here's the first question: did the tractor roll off the Case assembly line with the safety wire on the pump, or has it been serviced since? I am trying to determine if the pump needs servicing now. I am rebuilding the engine, so I'm going through everything now.

Another question: the fuel system has three filters, instead of just two filters, like our 1370. What's up with that?

One last question: can anyone either describe the dash gauge layout, or email me a picture?

Again, thanks in advance.

Pumps come from the factory with wire that has some kind of lead seal on it so that anyone can tell if the pump has been tampered with. This would probably void the waranty. If a pump is serviced it would probably have new seals installed also. Seals on the pump are generaly a good sign when looking at a tractor.

Don't know about the first two questions other than the third fuel filter is $30+ at the dealer. I have a CK with c-o-m and my dash has three small gauges, 2 large, and 4 idiot lights. The lower left gauge is the speed-o-meter. above and to the right of that is the temp, clutch pressure, and fuel gauge. Those three go across the top of the dash. Below and right of the fuel gauge is the tach. The idiot lights are spaced evenly just beneath the three guages. They are Gen, filter, converter hot, and oil. Hope that helps.
