Chuckles,

did you flush out the gas tank, remove the fitting for the fuel delivery, the fitting right out of the tank, clean everything out. Re-run a piece of fuel line as a temporary delivery line. Was the tractor running and all of a sudden it stopped?

Yep ! Had the tank down to the rad shop for flushing last night got it back today, same thing.
But talked to an old farmer this afternoon who said he had a problem similar with another tractor and found sludge in his transmission, diff. put diesel fuel in it flushed it through it worked fine. SO I checked the trans case and low and behold what should I find sludge in the trans. case . Well will try this next. If this don't do it Ya'll will hear a sonic boom way down south and find pieces of a case tractor out to the west coast. Chuckles

Carburetor float could be set too low. Does choking it help? Is the governor working? Start it and hold the brakes on and ease the clutch out a little with it in gear and see if the governor moves. Did you replace the condenser before or after this problem started? I have gotten bad condensers.

chuckles,

We had the same problem on a 1949 SC. I rebuilt the carb and did the timing and cleand the plugs.

Still bogged under load.

When I removed the sediment bowl from the tank, there it was, the small screen into the sediment bowl was clogged enough to restrict the flow of fuel under load.

I cleaned the screen and was plowing like crazy after that.

sometimes the craziest problems are fixed by the simpelest fixes

It has got to be starving for gas. If you choke it a little (about 1/4 to 1/3) under load does it smooth out? If it does adjust the lean/rich about 1/2 turn out (to the rich) or until it acts like it is starting to choke and the back to lean just enought to smooth the engine. If this adjustment is over sensitive make sure you do not have a partial blockage in the fuel line or bowl.

Have you checked the aircleaner. Try running it with the airhose off for a bit. Or a plugged muffler.
