Mike, awhile back you asked about brass/bronze brake pedals on Case SC's - how's the data collection going? I have a '44 SC with brass pedals and I have run them through a wire wheel and they look great! That is how they will be installed when the rest of the tractor is done. Just check'n, FSB

Hi Fred,

So far, I only have 4 or 5 tractor serial numbers recorded with the bronze pedals. That's been a long time- you are in my list, right?

I've got a rough idea of when they started and stopped. I'll keep narrowing it down as I find more.

Still want to find a set for myself someday.

-S.

Do you have a serial number list of 44s with the bronze pedals? I am pretty sure mine are not since where the paint is wearing it is shiny - I can inspect them more closely. No comment on my electrical lecture?

Hi Todd,

Sorry for my delay in responding... I was trying to wolf down my dinner! (grin)

I'm afraid my list of 1944 SC's is very short right now, but here it is-

Case SC tractors with brass/bronze brake pedals:
(last updated 07/13/2003)

(Seems to be limited to 1944 production.)

Thad 4803420SC (bronze)
FredCT 4803440 (bronze)
Ebay auction - 4810016SC - (bronze)
FredCT 4810188 (cast iron)

Yes- I saw your post about the 6V/12V jump starting, and I agree whole-heartedly.

However, I'm certainly glad that you weren't around when I was taking my electrical engineering classes back in High School... I can only imagine what you would have done to me if you had caught me burning up resistors across the benchtop power supply or blowing up capacitors!

When we were in tech school we used to take a piece solder, form it into a U, and drop it into the A-C plugs on the top work benches in the lab. It would really pop - not too safe or smart!
