Anyone who has ever worked on The Case 3-point hydraulics probably knows that there are all kinds of different arrangments on the seals and rings on the hydraulic piston. It seems there are no 2 of them alike. Today I pulled my 300 round nose apart to fix the rings on the hydraulic piston. I looked in my Case (original copy) parts book and it showed a steel ring and a rubber O ring for the utility model. When I pulled the piston out I happened to notice that it did not look like the one in the picture in the parts book. Mine had ring grooves close together on one end and the parts book showed them on opposite ends of the piston. I kept digging through old parts books and finally found one that looked like mine. It was on a 350 model. I was just wondering why my 300 utility had a part from a 350 model. I know it had not been changed because it was a one owner and the old fellow I got it from said he had never touched the hydraulics.

Maybe the old man forgot because i am pretty sure it was change because it has been Quite a while that Case did not supply that piston with the metal ring and anytime you wanted parts the piston was sub and you had to buy two seals now one is part no. A36441 and one of A36442 this on is close to one inch wide and if i remember the new piston should bve A36438. I f any question y e mail is [email protected]
