I have an 830D standard getting oil in the water. What could be the problem? Is it worth fixing or should i just part it out?

Just went through this with a 730 D ( same heads as your 830) Both heads were cracked in the combustion area. These heads a famous crackers, everything from low coolent level to either can do it. I found some good cores for $50 each, spent $500 on them at my local Diesel shop, but now have all new valves & guides. Welding or stiching cracked heads is iffy at best ( good luck finding someone who will even try) BTW the tractor ran great even with the cracks. It's easy to pull the heads, email me if u need more info Rollin

Hey Bill, It may be leaking by the fuel pump? Where are you from Bill?

Hey bill: Don't give up so easy!! How's the rest of the tractor? Water in the oil is a little easier, we'd probably say o-rings on the bottom of the sleeves. If it's C-O-M, I've heard of converter oil contaminating the coolant through a bad radiator. If it's engine oil, it's got to be the head or head gasket. Hope this helps.

It is engine oil in the radiator. It has the dual range 8 speed trans. Fair shape, starts hard though. Clutch seemed a little on the weak side to me too.

Hey Bill: Hand clutch or foot clutch? Have you been using ether? If so, expect the worst.
