Is it possible to overhaul the torque converter on an 800 by taking it out piece by piece from the housing, instead of taking it out whole?? I don't have the tool to withdraw it. I overhauled an RPS34 Power Shift that way. Book says to take that out in 1 piece.

Hi John
I removed the torque converter from my 530CK by bolting both ends a length of chain to opposite sides of the front of the converter and looping a web strap (one loop through the other) around the rear of the converter. The chain and the other looped end of the strap fit over the lift hook of the chain hoist I used. The hoist was hung from a trolley on a beam so it rolled out of the torque tube nice and straight. Hope this gives you some idea.
