Case 801b questions

I recently posted a message about this same tractor (and i'll probably post more) but I have a '58 801b and I was wondering how much toe-in this tractor is supossed to have on the front wheels. When i mesured mine, there is about 1 1/2" toe-in, I was wondering because the steering rod that connects the two wheels together has a big bend in it and i really didn't know if it was supposed to be straight or not-obviously it looks like it used to be straight. Also, i am working on the fuel system and am wondering what type of filter the third one is, is it replaceable or do you just clean it? (mine is painted over so it is hard to see any markings) Any help would be appreciated
Brian

Hey Brian: I just rolled my 801 in the shop last month for a complete restoration. As for toe in, I would say 1/16 to 1/8th is good. The tie rod should have no bends. That 3rd 1 I think you are talking about is reusable, I believe. I have heard some discussion on replacing it with a replaceable 1.

John, Thanks for the info, turns out that third filter is just a normal replaceable filter, i simply asked too soon. How is your restoration going? I am interested in your project because we are still learning about and working on our tractor and would like to see pictures on what these tractors should look like-regarding color scheme etc, also we are looking for the clamshell type fenders and don't really know where to get them. If you have any info or advice on any of that please let us know, Thanks for your reply -Brian

What is the part number or type for the final fuel filter. I am trying to get a 58' Casomatic 800 started (been 15 years since last ran) and can't seem to get the fuel thru the final filter. The filter that was on the tractor was a napa 3191 and we had a new spare and i tried it but still no luck. The line leading to the filter has ample fuel supply when removed. Any other suggestions on what to do help get the tractor started are welcome.
