Frank In Tallahasse Have you started your Case Vac yet? Did you rebuild the hole engine or what? I have two Case Vac tractors. I took the oil pan off one of them and on two of the manin bearing holders you can move them a little. One is worse than the other. About how much did it cost to rebuild the engine if you rebuilt it. Thanks

Nick

I just completed mine, new rings, all new bearings, rebuilt water pump, complete new clutch, repaired radiator, a new front tire and misc oil/plugs/filters and spent $1500.00 Not too bad for a new motor.

Nicholas:

I haven't started it yet. Anyday now, I hope. I honed the cylinders and replaced the rod bearings and rings. The mains seemed pretty tight. The head required lots of work though (all springs, valves, seats, grind, surface grind).

I would think if you have losse mains, you would probably have to remove the crank and have it ground.

I think you can get a complete piston and sleeve kit for a VAC for around $499.

It is not the main bearings it is the rod bearing on two of them. I typed the wrong thing. Thanks
