When I bought this tractor the fella said it wasn't charging. He claimed to have had the generator checked and it tested fine. I've looked at it as time permits and have completely rewired it and replaced the voltage regulator and all I can get at the battery is 12.4 volts. The amp meter stays at zero at an idle with no accessories on, rises temporarily when reved to governed rpm then bounces between -10 and +10 constantly. The regulator I put on it appears just like the one I took off and I see no means of adjustment. Do amp meters go bad in this way?
PLEASE HELP
