I bought a CASE tractor. it is Gas engine, 4cyl, and motor number is 73E11412.
I could not readily locate an Identification plate as yet.
It is missing the Head, and Carburator. I need to identify the year and model number to find the parts to get it running. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, Joe

Engine serial nrs are only good for identifing a part that was changed within the type & sequence of the engine.

The 73 indicates the type of engine I.E. a Rock Island built VTA-1073 engine assembly. The E is the sequence. The 5 digits are the number of your specific engine.

72 & 73 appear to be common to the 50's VA series so like John said check the the photo section for a like model.

I would start with the VA series (VAC, VAI, VAO, ETC). Once you find the model, narrow down the year by general appearance, sheet metal, steering linkage, attachments, etc.

Color of the tractor would help some. Or go to the tractor photos and do a search on Case and scan down and see what resembles yours.
