Can anyone tell me the good and the bad points of the 2590? I am looking for a big simple good tractor and this model was suggested. Any thoughts or comments would be much appreciated. Thanks

I traded my 2590 off this summer, I wish I hadn't. I bought mine used. It had 4500 hrs on it and had everything rebuilt at 4000. They told me the tran. and final drive was completly wiped out. When I bought it they had removed a lot of wheel wts. I run it to 6700 hrs with no trouble. I believe the secret to a trouble free life of one of these is to NOT OVER WT.them. They have more power than the power train can handle. If the wheels can slip some it will save you money. Tires are cheaper than a overhaul. I have a 2390 with 6500hrs on it (I bought it new) and have only valved it 4000hrs. Had some updates put in the tran. I have changed oil regularaly in the engine and tran. and haven't found any filings. It still starts up right away and runs and pulls great. Oh! Yes.. I run them by the exhaust temp. Keep them cool and they will run forever.
