Tom could you check #5303519D which is the combine engine I told you about You may have read I found 3�� alumium pistons and plated valve springs Looking at paint on engine and head gasket edge the head has never been off Thanks Bill

sure your yard stick didnt slip, all D series engines were 3 7/8 top of the piston may be 3 3/4 but bore would be 3 7/8, and most all combine engines were alumin pistons and governed to 1400,
5303519 wqas built nov 12 1948 and shepped to bettendorf combine plant nov 13 1948

RIGHT YARD STICK DID NOT SLIP BRAIN FADED WHEN TYPING WHEN DID CONBINES GO TO 4 INCH??? I HAD THOUGHT THE TAG WOULD HAVE DE OR SOMETHING OTHER THAN JUST D AS IN A D SERIES TRACTOR

maybe it ws built on monday morning, guy with a hangover didnt stamp it was the tag on the valve cover? accordubg to the book they had 4 inch peistons and 5505 hesad in 1942

YEP TAG ON VALVE COVER AND THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO LOOK UP I AM REASONBABLY HEAD HAS NEVER BEEN OFF AND HAS 5576A ALSO WHAT ABOUT THOSE PLATED VALVE SPRINGS HEAVER BECAUSE OF HIGHER RPM????? ?
