Hey Bruce,

I was re-reading one of my old tractor books "Vintage Case Tractors" by Peter LeTourneau and noticed the SC photo on page 86. In the caption it says the SC is owned by Bruce Nelson of St Croix Falls, Wisc.

Is that you, the same Bruce Nelson, that me and "The Great Mike Schotte" met up at Almelund?

I wish that I had known it was his tractor on the cover... we could have gotten our books autographed! (grin)

That picture is the reason I snatched that book up the minute I found a copy. It was the first time I'd found an SC in a book.

Mike, you need to get the Case GP tractors by Robert Pripps and Andrew Morland. Picture of SC on the cover. Belongs to J.R. Gyger. Other pics also of SC's. Another one is Case Tractors by Andrew Morland and Nick Baldwin. Some more color pictures. Also finally got my copy of 150 Years by C H Wendel.

I have that book also. Look at the YT photo ads on 12/5 , look for the R and look on page 78 of the book, Looks the same, crooked Eagle decal on the tank. Otto and Bruce are not far away from each other. That has to be Bruce's SC , it is top the best colored resto in the whole book. If the 40-72 pic would have been colored it would have been a tie. That 110 Case Steamer is sweet too. Close the book and look at the cover!

Aaawww Gggeee Guys, Is that SC any nicer than the SC I restored?? The picture of my SC is in the article published in the Fall '99 issue of Heritage Eagle that Mike S. has in his gallery. Aaawww, I'm offended.

John,

How can you compare a small, grainy black & white picture of your tractor with a large, professionally printed color photo of Bruce's ride?

If you've got any better pictures of your SC, then we can make a side-by-side comparison. Till then, who knows which is better?

Which SC is rustier... mine or Les'? Maybe we should have a contest for the other side of the coin.

If I really wanted to give you guff... then I'd say that by reading the article, we know that your tractor has got a busted and re-welded transmission case, too! (grin)

Have a good evening,

-Schotte
