Earlier on this board someone said that if you wanted to boost the Hp of the Sc you could replace the standard head with a LP gas head. My question is where do you get one? And does it help with low end torque or does it help on the high end of the spectrum. Very interested if it help the high end.

It was me - the LP head boosts the compression. My Dad's SC had an LP (milled and exhaust valves more than once) head. If you chained it to stump it would stand right up on it's rear-end. We could bury a 2 18" plow with it in third gear. I spent many hours pulling an eight foot disc and culipacker tied together with that tractor. The SC that I have now doesn't have the same power curve - regular head and stock governor. Try posting an ad in the classifieds on the YT site. I do not know how to identify the LP head compared a stock gas head - any helpers?
